Tuesday Tales - FLAVOUR - Where #Authors #Write to a #prompt ~ #romance #love

Welcome to Tuesday ... Welcome to Tuesday Tales ...

I continue with  Rachel's story. I introduced her in "I think I love you", the third book in the "Australian Sports Stars Series". She's Sarah's sister.
Today's prompt is: FLAVOUR.

“What do you mean?”
Mat took a sip of the coffee and was impressed by the flavour considering it cost only a few bucks.
“Mate, you’re pissing me off here. What the hell didn’t she say?”
“When did you get so uptight?”
There was a sharp intake of breath and an exhale on the other end of the line. “She had a rough twelve months. I just want to know she’s okay.”
Mat froze mid-stride. Damn! “What happened?”
“What the hell didn’t she say, Matiu?” Oliver’s voice was loud and the tone impatient.
He leaned against the car with one hand in his pocket and watched the heavy traffic. Recalling his conversation with Rachel earlier that day. “Well,” he began. “I answered your phone, so she hung up, but rang again. I told her you’re not home and she asked me to leave a message and hung up. I returned the call and we had a bit of a chit chat.”
There was a pause before Oliver finally asked, “And which part didn’t she say?”
“Never asked how I got hold of your phone. Never questioned my call, but was happy with the reverse-call-explanation I used.”
Silence.
"Give her a call and tell me more about your girl tonight. I've got to go,” Mat finally said.
“Okay. Yes, will do,” Oliver replied absentmindedly. “And good luck with your meeting.”

  5. I love the part about what she didn't say. That's intriguing. But I"m with Jillian, I"m a bit lost here, not sure where they are and what's going on. Next week I'm sure I'll be back on track.

  6. I'm intrigued! There's a layer underneath here that you don't quite let us know about yet. Yet a hint, just enough to tease us. Great job!
