~~Today's snippet is a bit longer, but I wanted to add the whole dream sequence
otherwise it might be too confusing.~~
“Please don’t,”
she begged as her body was trembling, almost shaking. She stared blindly at the
windows, trying hard not to sob, as her throat tightened with each of his touches.
“Come on. Don’t
be like that,” he replied, moving his lips past her ear and down her neck. His
hand slid down her body and under her shirt.
“Please stop.
I’m awfully tired.”
He stared at
her and his mouth twitched. “Sweetheart, you’re always tired.”
Her efforts to
push him away were ineffective. His tight grip around her waist didn’t give her
much room to move out of his arms. She was helpless, as the more she denied
him, the more relentless he became. She felt his hand in her hair at the back
of her neck and he moved his head closer to hers. It sent shivers down her
spine.
“I love you,
sweetheart,” he said under his breath.
She could
barely speak and her words sounded throaty. “Please,” she whispered, nearly
sobbing. “Please don’t.”
He lowered his
head, and she assumed that he would whisper something in her ear. She knew she
was fighting in vain when he trailed caressing kisses along her neck with his
mouth; he wouldn’t listen. With his body against hers, his breathing against
her neck became heavier and stronger. Turning her head away from him, she
closed her eyes and did her best to ignore the pain with each movement.
When she heard
him under the shower, she slowly went into the guest room down the hallway,
took a little teddy bear out of the bottom drawer in the cupboard, and sat on the
bed. She cradled her friend as the tears streamed down her face.
Please, someone help me, please, she sobbed. Please, someone.
She heard him
coming towards the room, and quickly wiped her face with a tissue and carefully
placed her little teddy bear back into the rear of the drawer underneath her
pink and yellow baby blanket.
“How about I
prepare us a nice dinner?” he asked with contentment.
Her faint smile
held a touch of sadness and pain. It was just as painful on her lips as what
had just happened between them. Yet still she smiled. “Sounds good,” was all
she was able to whisper.
Hollie woke up in a sweat—as usual. Her breathing was deep and fast as she cried and her body ached. What was this? Why did she keep dreaming of this woman? And who on earth was she?

One my favourite books I've ever read!
Tyson is the typical Aussie football (and prefect book boyfriend). While taking a break he meets a crying Katie his world is upended and he doesn't even shy away from the tears that stream down her face.Despite reservations and distance, Tyson pursues Katie with the same vigour and persistence that have made him the hottest thing in football.
Tyson's relationship with his grandmother is adorable and just makes him even a little more perfect, if that is at all possible
The perfect summer beach read for those wanting a little bit of romantic innocence

Mark Taylor crash landed on planet earth in 1975. Then he started writing. He writes macabre, dark, stories, with a brooding style. He has enjoyed releases of both novel and short story collection alike.
Some of Mark’s work is about kittens and daisies. Just not very much.

Before cell phones and reality TV, when women had big hair and men were all about action and adventure, a girl walks into a bar searching for a hero. She finds R. C. Benson, a soldier turned grave robber wallowing in past sins. With a marriage of convenience, a pet shark and a shady butler, Grace and R. C. have their work cut out for them, but that gives them the perfect chance to fall in love.
Excerpt from Trouble in Paradise
The elevator jerked to a stop. Dropping her suitcase at her feet, he swept by her and walked down the hall.
"Jerk," she muttered, picked up the suitcase and followed him to their room. Then it struck her. Their room.
"We both can't stay here," she said.
He narrowed his eyes. "We're supposed to be getting married. And when we get to the island, do you think Van Lord will give us separate rooms? What were you thinking?"
Grace sighed. "I wasn't thinking past getting the candlestick."
"We'll get it."
"You sound confident."
"I've never failed--well. Only once when it was really important." He cast his gaze to the floor, his expression darker than she'd seen it since the first night they'd met. Making their plans seemed to have distracted him from old problems. She'd started to think he could really help her after all, but not if he reverted to the person she'd met in the bar.
"What makes you think you're supposed to be perfect?" she demanded.
"You can't screw up a person's life and explain it away. I had a responsibility."
"And it sounded like you did everything you could to keep it." She sat on the end of the bed and searched his face. She wished to offer him some comfort, and not only because she needed his help. Part of her felt genuinely sorry for him. They hadn't known each other long, but she sensed how much he'd cared about his brother.
"I keep thinking if I'd done something different. If I hadn't enlisted again I would have been there for him when our parents died. If I'd spent more time with him. If--"
"You can't take the blame for his decisions."
"He was only eighteen."
"When you were eighteen, you were in the service, not thieving."
"He wasn't me. You have to look at people like individuals."
"I'm not saying you might not have made mistakes, but I don't doubt you did your best with him. You can't blame yourself for his decisions. I know it's not easy to deal with death, but--"
"Don't tell me about death. I know about it from every possible angle. I've been near it. I've lost family and friends to it. I've sent my enemies to it and seen men, women, and--" He paused, his brow furrowing. "Even children die in ways I wish I could forget."
"The war?"
He nodded, dropping his duffel bag onto the bed. "Let's talk about something else. We have a few hours before the wedding. Let's go shopping."
"Shopping?"
"You don't want to get married in jeans and boots, do you?"
"Well don't expect me to wear a white gown."
He held up his arms and formed a frame with his hands through which he gazed at her face and torso. "I was thinking more along the lines of a red bikini. Just kidding. Let's get some clothes that will look nice in pictures."

All she wants is to start over, live a peaceful life…
After an abusive marriage and an ugly divorce, Toni needs to rebuild her self-confidence and start a new life in her hometown. Going home again and confronting people she'd hurt when she'd left is never easy. She'd hung onto the idea of buying a long-abandoned old house and remodeling it to help her recover. But a man from her past has recently purchased it for his business. That's her emotional breaking point and she does something reckless. Now she must pay the legal consequences of her foolish actions…by working for him.
All he wants is to focus on his work…
Chad's job as a lawyer working to protect the rights of the abused elderly consumes his time and energy. It cost him his marriage and an aborted child he hadn't known about. Now he works harder, guards his bruised heart. Yet the return of someone he'd held secret feelings for comes back to town. She upsets his world, starting with minor destruction of his business property and causing him minor injury. Excerpt
He glanced at the young woman standing close by, worrying her lower lip. "Maybe you should call—"
"What? Call my father? Because I'm acting a little wild?" Toni snorted and cut him off. "I have every right to act upset. Yet another man has messed with me, lied to me."
His angular face tightened in annoyance. "I still have no idea what you're talking about." He stepped closer and reached for her.
"No!" She jumped back, breaking off the other stiletto heel, and barely managed to keep from falling. Her entire body tensed.
A memory flashed into her mind. Stanley had grabbed her arms during their last argument right after they'd eaten a special meal she'd prepared for him. His grip had been agonizingly tight. When she'd hissed in pain, he'd shoved her away. She'd landed hard on the floor, knocking her head against the dining room table. After a half-second of possibly regret, he'd turned and hurried out of the house. No apology.
"Antoinette," Chad said again, sounding cautious.
She pushed the recollection away and looked at Chad. His expression appeared concerned. Again, he inched forward and tried to reach for her.
"Don't touch me!" she gasped, batting his hand away, dropping the heel and purse. She hated that she was reacting this way but felt helpless to control it.
"What's your problem?" Appearing confused, he moved toward her once more.
Panicked, defensive, and determined to stop him, she snagged the iPad from his grasp, flung it away. It crashed into the nearby towering, leafless elm tree. The sound of cracking glass made her flinch. What had she done?
Footsteps behind her on the sidewalk pounded in her direction. The young woman on the porch gasped and Chad's father walked behind him.
"Have you been drinking?" Chad's tone dripped with disgust as he seemed to sniff for hints of alcohol.
Her cheeks flamed. "No, I haven't been!" she bit out. It was humiliating to realize that her brother must have told Chad about her drinking problem, something he must have read in the gossip columns.
His vivid blue eyes didn't look as though he believed her. His jaw taut, he latched onto her left forearm before she could move. He gripped her tightly.
No! Panicked, she drew on the self-defense lessons she'd learned after the separation. With a palm strike, she gave a hard jab to his shoulder.
"What the hell?" he snapped, jerking but not releasing her. His arm was stretched out between them.
Heart racing, she hit his elbow with another palm strike. This time he lost his grasp on her arm and glowered at her in frustration and pain. She sensed he would reach for her again, but she couldn't let it happen.

"Book Hook" Day
May I 'hook' you on "I think I love you"
my latest release in the Australian Sport Stars series?
"I think I love you"
is set in Melbourne, in the wonderful country of Australia.
I hope you get hooked by this Snippet
Today's hook
Markus sat on the edge of her bed, watching her sleep. He studied her face. Her long lashes that lay against her cheek. Her soft breathing. Sleep had caused her to relax, and she looked so at ease, so beautiful.
Carefully, he slid down the zip of her dress and instantly grimaced when he noticed she didn’t wear a bra. Without waking her, he slipped the dress down her body before taking it off, pulled the covers up over her, and tucked them firmly around her. Choking back a chuckle, he thought about how she’d encouraged him to spend the night with her. And now his heart ached seeing her in front of him in bed. He’d have given anything to slide under the blanket and wrap his arms around her petite waist. But it wouldn’t have been fair on Sarah or their friendship. As much as he thought he’d be ready for a relationship, he didn’t want to destroy what they had with a one-night stand. She deserved so much more. Yet, as he thought of it, he wasn’t sure why he wasn’t enough. Was it the old myth of a friendship turning into a relationship and failing? Was he scared to lose her as a friend, because they could be a mismatch as a couple? Or was it simply because he didn’t want to be the rebound?
Blurb:
Markus DeLeon and Sarah Winter’s lives couldn’t be more different… After three years away as the goalkeeper for an English soccer club, Markus has been happy to be back in Australia. He’d missed his family and friends, including Sarah. He’s known her since childhood, and often protected her from the teasing of other children and the troubling consequences of a broken home.
When they attend their friends’ wedding, a new light is cast on their friendship… Sarah is fresh out of a bad relationship, and Markus has always been the one she can confide in. Maybe it’s the magic of the wedding—or how stunning he looks in a tux—but the attraction between them intensifies in ways they’d never imagined.
But sometimes when risking what you have, you might lose everything… Following a passionate encounter, Markus isn’t sure how to handle this new aspect of his relationship with Sarah, and literally flees the scene for the coast. Sarah is unsure how to react to his sudden departure, but is soon knocked off course by misunderstandings and a frightening family emergency.
Markus realises his mistake and wants to make things right, but he also faces obstacles. He’s been offered an exciting new job, and an attractive newcomer to the neighbourhood is eager to claim his attention, though the last thing Markus needs is another confusing relationship.
Can Sarah and Markus face the fear and doubt—and the potential loss of their lifelong friendship—to give their love a chance?

Book #3 of the Australian Sport Series - also the one I enjoyed the most :) Their love story is not your regular "thrills" one - you know, the one with shivers top to bottom and bottom to top - at the first sight :) It's a beautiful story about the friendship, strong and true, turning slowly into some profound feelings. They do not realize it at first, then they do not want to realize that, finally they are too scared to admit it... :) But it gets them anyways :D

Welcome to Tuesday ... Welcome to Tuesday
Tales ...
I continue with Rachel's story. I introduced her in "I think I love you", the third book in the "Australian Sports Stars Series". She's Sarah's sister.
When Rachel opens the door and finds the police standing in front of her door, she's scared of a repeat of the day she was dragged to the police station. Yet, the two officers only want information and ask her to stop by later that day. Worried, she calls Oliver, a good friend, but instead gets Matiu Afoa on the phone. Matiu is Oliver's Kiwi friend staying with him for a week. He's in Melbourne for a meeting.

Mat emptied his cup of coffee with one long sip
before he placed it on the table. “Are you still going ahead with the contract?”
He was referring to the nasty incident only a week
earlier with a helicopter crash in the mountains. It’d been a big blow for the
small communities of Fox and Franz Josef Glacier.
Karen nodded. “Terrible. Just terrible.” She paused
a moment and leaned back into her chair. “Yes, we’d like to go ahead with the
contract. We assume by the time you’ve set up the business in Queenstown, it
will be out of the news.”
Mat’s stomach squeezed. How he hated this side of
business. If this hadn’t meant a big opportunity for him and Adam, he’d have cancelled
the whole meeting. Bugger the money. But he wanted to move back to Queenstown
and the contract would give him the finances to set up an office in his
hometown.
He gave a slow nod. “Okay. Let’s talk figures.”
After two hours of discussing, arguing, and
checking numbers, he’d finally come to an agreement with Karen on their first
draft. It was now up to their lawyers to settle on the nitty gritty.
Mat walked back to his car, tired and worn out. Too
much talking. How much he hated the business side of things. He loved flying,
loved being up in the air, the sensation of no ties, and gazing at the wonders Mother
Nature had to offer.
John had too. But he’d paid a high price for his
love.

Hollie’s heart pounded, and she found herself melting
into the moment. Yet, she pushed Jeremy away when he
moved his hand up her thigh. His hold on her face grew
stronger, and his kisses more wanting. With one big
push against his chest, she was able to get hold of the
door handle and more or less tumbled out
of
the car. Jeremy followed her
outside.
“Hollie,”
he nearly shouted, coming towards her. “Hey, what just
happened?”
With burning fury in her eyes, she tried not to cry in front of him. “What happened? What kind of girl do you think I am?”
Jeremy stepped closer. “Hey,” he said quietly, reaching out for her. “I’m sorry.”
She flinched away from him.
“Leave me be. Just go,” she said and turned around striding to the house with big steps. The tears ran down her face. How dare he insult her by assuming she would be ready for anything more than just a drink? Little by little, her heartbeat slowed down as she heard the car speeding off into the dark night.
