Excerpt:

She was perfect for what I had in mind. Timid. Easily led. After all, she was squeezed up against me on the back of my bike after only having met me just over an hour ago. Silly girl. I could be leading her to her death for all she knew. All in good time but first I wanted to have a little fun with the stunning creature squeezing my ass between her thighs.
It had been way too long since I’d had a woman’s curvaceous figure pressed up against me and I wasn’t going to let it go to waste. Not today. Today was all about bending her to my will. Showing her that I could play nice.
When she’d stumbled on the sidewalk, my instinct had been to protect her from hurting herself. Strange. It wasn’t a need I normally succumbed to. Helping others. It wasn’t in my nature. The thought of seeing her face planting the concrete had driven me out of my comfort zone and into un-chartered territory. A place that held emotions reserved for the weak and more humane creatures. It wouldn’t serve me well to entertain those  crippling sensations.
Letting the throttle out on the bike, we comfortably eased out of town. I loved the sense of freedom my Harley gave me. Freedom was a relatively new experience. Since leaving the confines of Hell I’d been given free rein to roam the Earth to recruit an army for Satan himself. One could get used to life’s pleasures. Even though I still had a job to do, nothing had been said about not enjoying myself along the way.
Mia was a perfect distraction. Her body felt sensational, molded to mine while the meaty throb of danger sat between my legs, fueling my lust as I put the machine through its paces, enjoying the vibrations and roar from the engine. My sexual urges were greater than that of any mortal male. Powerful lust driven by debauchery and greed. A sinful nature. Oh, what I could do to the pristine soul clinging to me as if her life depended on it. Watching the way her locks had flowed over the pale column of her neck had me insane with need to have a taste, for she was a true delicacy that I would indeed savor.

How can he convince Jeri that he knows acting so immaturely was a big mistake?

EXCERPT:

Jeri Belmont checked the time on her watch. It was twenty past six, and they’d agreed to meet at six.
He was late!
Steaming inside, and less than impressed by her blind date, she took another sip of the Chardonnay as she gazed around the restaurant. Everyone was engulfed in their conversations, but occasionally one of the patrons glanced at her. She shrugged it off, confident in sitting on her own in the town’s most elegant restaurant.
What she couldn’t shrug off, though, was her date being late.
She drank the last little bit of her wine, paid, and left. A deep disappointment settled in the pit of her stomach, surprising her, because it hadn’t been the first time she’d been on a blind date that ended with the guy not showing up.
She suppressed a groan as she thought of the man she’d met only a few weeks earlier. Admittedly, he’d been nice, but not at all what he’d pretended to be in the details she received from the “Your Future Heart” agency.
Yet, this rejection hurt inside. Olivia had told her so much about her neighbour, and she’d trusted her niece when she’d assured he’d be there.
Olivia was Georgia’s daughter. Georgia was Jeri’s cousin, but to avoid confusion they all agreed on Olivia being her niece. Jeri loved Olivia like her own daughter and had often babysat her when she’d been younger. They’d been to movies, concerts, and Jeri had even been along to one of her niece’s trips to Melbourne to visit Olivia’s best friend Mia, who had moved across the Bass Strait.
As Jeri walked down the streets to her car, she replayed her conversation with her niece in her mind.
“How are your blind dates going?” her niece had asked as she came into Jeri’s gallery a couple of days ago.
She’d shrugged. “I have a winner’s luck getting hooked up with all the duds in town.” Jeri remembered hesitating, contemplating whether to speak the words in her head. Was she destined to live alone after her divorce? She wasn’t looking for the man of her dreams, just companionship. Someone to go out with once in a while. Someone to share her day’s highlights or nightmares with.

“You should meet the guy from next door,” Olivia said. “He’s like sex on legs. Honestly.”

Reviews for Innocent Tears by Iris Blobel #Reading #MFRWAuthor @Cleanreads_

Advice is what we ask for when we already
know the answer, but wish we didn't.”

I am a big fan of Miss Blobel's work. I love her characters and get so into their lives and how that comes together and culminates in the end. I loved Flynn and his apprehension about having to be a new Dad to a child he had never met. Emma's involvement and her torment of having to chose the right man. Jack's dormant abusive behavior and Teresa indifference to Nadine, who by the way was a very endearing child. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and Kudos to its author!!
I loved the storyline of this book and really felt for the characters. Couldn't put it down which doesn't happen very often.
"Innocent Tears" by Iris Blobel was a wonderful well written novel that once you start reading it will be hard to put down. Definitely the 'six year old girl' Nadine stole this novel for me in her first appearance in the read. "When six year old Nadine peers over the reception counter of a big city hotel and tells the receptionist,My mum's dead, the reader's attention is immediately gained." Nadine's grandparents had been taking care of her but now wanted to give her to her biological father, Flynn who was a business lawyer in Melbourne and didn't know of his daughters' existence. Be ready for a lots of drama to come from all of this situation. The characters Emma, Flynn, Nadine, the grandparents and Jack are all well developed and colorful , and really comes to life giving you a well written storyline. This author really keeps the reader guessing about the romance between Flynn and Emma and you will see how this love story is between a man and his daughter will finally blossom all in this good read. Would I recommend this read? YES!

Series Info: The Landry's True Colors Series is a clean reads young adult humor series about friendship, self-esteem, fitting in, middle school and high school, frenemies, crushes, and self-image.

Genre: contemporary clean teen fiction

Landry in Like (Landry's True Colors Series: Book 3) by Krysten Lindsay Hager

Blurb: Things seem to be going well in Landry Albright's world—she's getting invited to be on local talk shows to talk about her modeling career, her best friends have her back, and her boyfriend Vladi has becoming someone she can truly count on…and then everything changes. Suddenly it seems like most of the girls in school are into hanging out at a new teen dance club, while Landry just wants to spend her weekends playing video games and baking cupcakes at sleepovers. Then, Yasmin McCarty, the most popular girl in school, starts to come between Landry's friendship with Ashanti. Things take a turn when Yasmin tells Vladi that Landry is interested in another boy. Can Landry get her relationships with Ashanti and Vladi back or will she be left out and left behind?

Excerpt:
I wanted to call my friends and tell them about being on the talk show, but Mom said we had to be at the TV station super early — even before school started. She said I could text them, but I had to turn off my phone and go to bed.
"I'm waking you up at four a.m.," she said. "You have to be there at five-thirty."
"Can I just call Peyton and Ashanti? Please?"
"Fine, but you have five minutes and then that phone is mine and you're in bed."
I dialed Peyton, but her mom said she was in the shower. I told her mom about the show tomorrow and said my mom wouldn't let me stay up any later to call Peyton back.
"How exciting! I will make sure Peyton knows, and I will be watching you tomorrow. Good luck, honey," Mrs. Urich said.
I called Ashanti next and told her.
"Get out. Get. Out. No way. This is so exciting!"
"I'm so nervous. My stomach is already doing cartwheels. I can't do one, but my stomach can. Seems unfair. What if I throw up before I go on? I did that right before I went on at the statewide Ingénue modeling competition in Detroit, and my mom had to give me a cough drop to cover up the smell."
"I'm sure you'll be fine, but… just in case, take a cough drop with you," Ashanti said. "Good luck. You'll be great and I'll go set the DVR now."
I hung up and sent a text to Vladi, India, Devon, Thalia, Tori, and Ericka, so no one would be mad and feel left out. Then I shut off my phone. Mom poked her head in the door to make sure I was in bed.
"Night, hon. Try to get some rest," she said.
Easier said than done. I stared at my ceiling while thinking about all the things that could possibly go wrong tomorrow. Seeing as the show was on in the morning, I never got to watch it, so I had no idea what the set was like — did it have super high chairs and I'd struggle to get into them? And what if it had those higher stools that were kind of tippy and my rear overshot the seat and I fell off? Or what if the prep questions got lost and the interviewer asked me random things like my feelings on nuclear war or asked me about some foreign political leader who I had never heard of before, and I appeared stupid? Why did I say I'd do this? I tried to get comfortable and it felt like I had just dozed off when I felt my mom shaking my shoulder.
"Rise and shine, TV star," she said.

“My Mum is dead.”
Somewhat startled by this statement, Emma peeked over the reception desk into beautiful green eyes that belonged to a cute little girl with brown curly hair and a freckled button nose. She couldn’t help but smile. There was something in the girl’s eyes that held a hint of mischief and curiosity, as well as some sadness, and Emma was drawn to her instantly.
“Nadine!”
The stern voice of an elderly woman approaching the reception caused Emma to flinch. The girl stiffened with eyes wide open.
“My apologies for that,” the woman said to Emma, though her expression didn’t actually reveal any signs of apologies. The woman’s face reflected a life of bitterness, the lines appearing deep and weathered.
Emma smiled. “No need to.”
An elderly man joined them, and after a brief nod of acknowledgment she asked, “May I help you?”

Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

EXCERPT:
She pulled her arms across her chest in an attempt to calm her shivering. Bright lights reflected from her rearview mirror, the only headlights she had seen since she had stopped on the side of the ride. Releasing a sigh of relief, she waited for flashing blue lights to interrupt the blackness surrounding the car. No blue lights. Her heart began racing at hearing a car door slam. She was alone, on a deserted highway. Checking the locks on her doors, she thought about driving away, but how far could she go with a flat tire?
A tap on the passenger window made her jump. "Hey."
The dark night made it impossible to see the face outside the passenger window. Fear made it impossible to move.
"Come on, Gin. It's wet out here."
No one else called her Gin. She hit the automatic button releasing the lock and Blake pulled the door open. Relief flooded her body and was replaced by anger.
"Blake — you nearly scared me to death."
"Not the best time for a flat tire. You're soaked."
"You're not so very dry yourself."
"Where are you headed?"
"I was on my way home. I had an early dinner with my family before they left for the weekend. Staying to play my piano wasn't a bad idea — I just got caught up in my music." She loved how her music could take her away from everything, but the downside was eventually she had to come back to reality. "Anyway, I was going through my options when you drove up."
"Your spare is lying in the mud."
"I was going to try changing it, but when the lightning started, I chickened out."
"Well, you can't drive all the way to Boston soaked to the skin. And I really don't want to change a tire in this downpour."
"So what do you suggest I do?"
"Let me take you back to your sister's house. You can stay the night and deal with the tire in the morning."
Virginia didn't respond, didn't want this moment to end. He was here, beside her and the intensity of how much she had missed him came crashing down upon her like tumultuous waves hitting a jagged rock wall along the seashore.
"Gin?"
She looked up. "That sounds good."
As he leaned over and pulled the keys from the ignition, it took all Virginia's willpower to keep from pulling him close.
